Waiting For The World To Catch Up

Bonno Bernard - VW Golf

I've had my Golf since Jan 2004, and I've been using biodiesel the whole time. Before the station went in, we had it delivered to the house and I'd pump it myself out of 55 Gal drums. I was in a steel band for years, so I was totally comfortable with that ;-) I got the NOPETRL plate to encourage questions from people.

I love telling folks: Yes - it's veggie oil!

I always feel great turning into the Green Station and fillin' 'er up. You guys are all so friendly... You offer a real community kinship.

Thanks for sticking with it while the rest of the world catches up to the greener truths! I so appreciate your dedication.

Improved Emissions, Locally Produced

Mike Rhoades - Ford F250

“My main reason for running biodiesel is the improved emissions over petroleum diesel, but I also like the idea of using a regionally produced fuel. The performance is also better: the truck idles smoother on biodiesel and delivers slightly better m.p.g. (about 15). Plus it smells good!"

Patriotic Values

Dave Beatty - Volkswagon Jetta

“As a conservative republican who values the local community, I would like to make a testimonial to the Green Station and to the use of biodiesel:

The fuel is Made in America (CA and NV) out of soybeans, restaraunt oil, etc. this is huge to me, NOT a Middle East product.

Transesterification, is a long word but it translates into ecology - GREEN.

Car wise, my '06 Jetta TDI runs great on your fuel. I have a theory that Biodiesel, which gives off less or no soot leaves the motor oil cleaner than it's petro counterpart."

Better Mileage

Chistopher Jones - Dodge Ram

“Hello, My name is Christopher Jones and my Company is Apollo Builders. I have been purchasing biodiesel from the Green Station at a slightly higher rate than standard diesel for some time now-even before they were the Green Station. Amazing as it may be, my Dodge diesel pickup-truck (Blue Mule) gets 14-16 mpg. My old gas truck got 10mpg. with much less capacity. I know it is necessary supporting fat oil instead of blood oil for the obvious reasons. We all have to do our part down the sustainable road. You can do it too. It feels good."

Non Toxic, Great Energy

Jane and Bryan - VW Jetta

“It’s really important to support alternate fuels, even if they cost a bit more than the cheaper stuff that releases fossil carbon into the atmosphere. Biodiesel is simply the pick of the litter when it comes to biofuels – non toxic, great energy input/output ratio, grown in the U.S. and extends engine life because it’s a better lubricant – don’t forget that replacing or rebuilding an engine is energy intensive. 20% increase in engine life is big!”

Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
The U. S. is the top oil consuming nation, using about 25% of total world oil production.
The Earth has been around for 4.6 billion years. Scaling this time down to 46 years we have been around for 4 hours and our Industrial Revolution began just 1 minute ago. During this short time period we have ransacked the planet to get fuels and raw materials.
  • The 500 million automobiles on earth burn an average of 2 gallons of fuel a day.
  • Each gallon of fuel releases 20 pounds of carbon dioxide into the air.
  • Approximately 5 million tons of oil produced in the world each ear ends up in the ocean.
